Losing in the play-offs will have raised plenty of questions about the futures of a number of people at Leeds United.

It might have been ten days ago since that defeat, however, time certainly has not made things any easier at Elland Road as speculation continues to be rife about what will happen over the summer.

Marcelo Bielsa has been at the forefront of sections of the media with questions over his future, whilst some of their talented stars have also been the subject of transfer links as well, i.e. Jack Clarke and Tottenham Hotspur (Football.London).

However, one man’s future seems to be rather clear and it is not with Leeds, or potentially anyone else either.

According to a report by Voetbal Primeur, Laurens de Bock is set to return to Elland Road this summer after a disappointing loan spell with KV Oostende.

The Belgian outfit have recently appointed a new manager who wants to start with a clean slate and it appears the left-back did not do enough to convince him that his future was with him.

And, that news could make Leeds’ summer just that bit more challenging.

Football Insider reported last month that Bielsa had made it clear that he had no desire to have De Bock at Elland Road regardless of the division they would be playing in.

But, if he failed to make a positive impression on a side that finished towards the bottom of the Belgian Jupiler League Pro, then it would be hard to see anyone else looking to take a chance on the 26-year-old.

It would be difficult to see English clubs look to take him as well following a poor six months under Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom.

Having signed a four-and-a-half year deal when he joined in January 2018 for a £1.5million transfer fee (The Sun), he still has two years left to run, but Leeds will be hoping they can find someone to take him off their hands.

كشف مدرب مانشستر سيتي بيب جوارديولا آخر تطورات تجدد إصابة النجم سيرجيو أجويرو، قبل مواجهة مارسيليا غدًا في دوري أبطال أوروبا.

ويلتقي الفريقان في الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات.

وكان أجويرو قد غاب عن الملاعب منذ شهر يونيو الماضي بسبب تعرضه لإصابة قوية في الركبة وخضوعه لعملية جراحية.

وقال جوارديولا، في مؤتمر نشرته شبكة “manchestereveningnews” الإنجليزية: “كنا صبورين بشكل لا يصدق ولم نجبر الأطباء في حالة أجويرو، أخبروني أنه جاهزًا لمواجهة آرسنال ولكننا علمنا إنه لا يستطيع المشاركة لإنه ليس في أفضل حال”.

وأضاف: “ولكن بدون المهاجمين في فريقنا، كان من المهم أن يلعب 60 دقيقة، ثم قررنا إراحته عندما بدأت العضلات تتعب”.

وواصل: “لسوء الحظ حدثت معه مشكلة في إحدى التدخلات في مواجهة وست هام، يجب أن نتحلى بالهدوء، ونأمل أن يتعافى في أسرع وقت ممكن”.

ومن المقرر أن ينتهي العقد الحالي لـ أجويرو مع مانشستر سيتي في عام 2021.

وعن تجديد عقد سيرجيو، أجاب بيب: “لا أريد أن أتحدث عن هذا الأمر لأنني لست مشتركًا في ذلك، ما أريده هو أن يكون أجويرو لائقًا وبعد ذلك سيُحدد المستقبل لكني لا أعرف، أريد أن يعود سيرجيو مرة أخرى ويعود في أسرع وقت ممكن كما قلت”.

وتابع: “نحن نفتقده كثيرًا، في بعض المباريات يكون وجود جيسوس وأجويرو معًا في مباريات خروج المغلوب أمرًا في غاية الأهمية، ما فعله سيرجيو في هذا النادي رائع وسيكون أسطورة هذا النادي، نريد أن نستمتع به أكثر ولكن هذا يعتمد على جسده وحالته”.

تواجد حارس المرمى المخضرم، بيتر تشيك، في قائمة تشيلسي النهائية لموسم الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز 2020-2021، رغم اعتزاله في العام الماضي.

تشيك اعتزل في عام 2019، ويعمل حاليًا كمستشار تقني وأداء في ستامفورد بريدج، ولكن تم اختياره الآن في قائمة الفريق النهائية للموسم الجاري.

ويتواجد تشيك في قائمة تشيلسي، كحارس مرمى للطوارئ، وأوضح النادي في بيانه: “تم ضم بيتر تشيك إلى الفريق لتعزيز مركز حارس المرمى في حالات الطوارئ”.

وأضاف: “هذه خطوة احترازية بسبب الظروف غير المسبوقة التي تسببها حاليًا أزمة كورونا، تشيك يشغل منصبًا كلاعب غير متعاقد”.

إدوارد ميندي ، كيبا أريزابالاجا وويلي كاباليرو مدرجون أيضًا في القائمة.

وعلم “بطولات”، أن اتحاد الكرة سيوضح في تقريره للأندية بأن قوانين الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم تنص على أن انتهاء الموسم الكروي يتم بنهاية بطولة الدوري.

حيث أنه بميعاد نهاية الموسم يسقط بشكل تلقائي تعاقد اللاعبين الذين تنتهي عقودهم بنهاية الموسم ولم تُجدد عقودهم وينضموا لقائمة الفريق المحلية ومن ثم لم يُسمح لهم بالمشاركة في المباريات القارية المتبقية بالموسم.

وسيكشف خطاب اتحاد الكرة أن هذا هو الحال الذي ينطبق على أحمد فتحي المنتظر أن ينتهي عقده بنهاية الموسم الجاري ثم سينتقل لصفوف بيراميدز وحازم إمام الظهير الأيمن للزمالك والذي لم يُجدد تعاقده حتى اليوم.

ويُخطط اتحاد الكرة لإنهاء بطولة دوري هذا الموسم يوم ٣٠ اكتوبر الجاري، وفي اليوم الذي ستنتهي فيه مسابقة الدوري سيسقط اللاعبين الذي تنتهي عقودهم بنهاية الموسم بشكل تلقائي من قائمة أندياتهم، وأي قبل مباراة نهائي دوري ابطال افريقيا يوم ٦ نوفمبر.

ومن المنتظر أن يواجه الأهلي نظيره الوداد البيضاوي المغربي في نصف نهائي دوري الأبطال، على أن يصطدم بالفائز من الرجاء المغربي والزمالك في النهائي حال عبوره.

18-year-old centre-back Rhys Williams has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, as officially announced by the Anfield club.

The Preston-born defender originally joined the Reds as an under-10, and has since progressed through the Merseyside club’s youth ranks. He is currently featuring regularly for the under-18s side and has also broken into the under-23s team this season.

As per Transfermarkt’s stats, the Englishman has made 21 appearances across all competitions, for both youth ranks, so far this season, scoring four goals and racking up two assists in this time.

Jurgen Klopp has already proved himself to be adept at bringing through exciting young English talents in his time as Liverpool boss. Williams will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are both now regulars in the Reds’ rearguard.

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish captained the club for the first time in their 4-0 win against Derby County at Villa Park on Saturday after being handed the armband by manager Dean Smith, and it is something that should have happened a lot sooner.

Despite being a Villa boy and making 132 appearances in all competitions for them, the 23-year-old had never been trusted with skippering the Midlands outfit – until his 133rd outing at the weekend that is.

The former England U21 international was making his comeback following three months on the sidelines with a shin injury, and he wasted no time showing what the club has been missing with a stunning first-time volley as the hosts raced into a 4-0 half-time lead against Frank Lampard’s visitors.

It wasn’t just his quality on the ball that was impressive however, as Grealish showed the leadership qualities that he has throughout his 71 minutes on the pitch, before he was replaced by Tom Carroll.

While Steve Bruce and now Smith have players like James Chester and Alan Hutton to choose from to captain the side, it seems crazy that Grealish had never been given the gig before – especially during the current campaign and with the departure of John Terry in the summer.

The 23-year-old is ready-made to captain Villa, and his display on Saturday proves it is an added pressure that won’t weigh down on his shoulders – instead, it appeared to give him an extra spring in his step.

The decision may have come earlier had he been fit and available in the previous three months, but the former Brentford boss still had nine Championship matches with the midfielder before the injury setback – now it looks as though the gamble could be the catalyst for a late push for the play-offs.

Aston Villa legend Alan Hutton, otherwise known as the Scottish Cafu, has been discussing the future of Keinan Davis.

In an exclusive interview with Football Insider, the Villa Park favourite suggested that the club should be doing everything they can to tie the 22-year-old down to a new contract, with his current deal due to expire in the summer.

The striker has found himself on the fringes of the first team this season, making just eight appearances in the Premier League in total.

That he wasn’t included in the starting XI in any of those outings underlines his lowly status at the club and perhaps suggests Dean Smith deems him surplus to requirements.

Despite that trend, though, Hutton believes Davis can still blossom into a valuable player for the club, per Football Insider.

“There’s other boys, like Keinan Davis, I think he’s out of contract. He’s one I would be desperate to tie down even though he’s had his injury problems this season.

“I think he’s got everything to be a top centre-forward. It’s just as a club where you see them in the future.”

And in response to those quotes, plenty of Villa fans also offered their endorsements for Davis, with many suggesting he should be offered fresh contractual terms.

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to hammer Danny Rose following the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

The England international was making his tenth Premier League start of the campaign against Jurgen Klopp’s men last time out, and proceeded to deliver a sloppy performance in front of Spurs’ home support.

Rose was withdrawn in the 69th minute having made no tackles, interceptions or blocks against the Merseysiders, while he was also vacant in an attacking sense.

The 29-year-old failed to have a single shot, nor did he make a key pass, while he completed just one dribble and had two unsuccessful touches as well.

Additionally, the former Sunderland full-back completed just 59.1% of his 22 passes on a day where he struggled to find his teammates before his withdrawal shortly after the hour mark had passed.

Rose also had just 32 touches of the ball and failed to win an aerial duel – he really didn’t do much, and you can see why Jose Mourinho substituted him.

Quite simply, this supporter named Chris Miller demanded that somebody “get Rose out of my club” – a short, but hard-hitting and damning verdict on the left-back’s display.

In response to Chris’ tweet, two supporters named Kevin and Gavin shared their thoughts.

Kevin said that it’s a “shame” Rose’s career is ending like this, and that he’d prefer for the Englishman to leave soon “before the good memories are forgotten”.

Meanwhile, Gavin wrote that the Tottenham No.3 is a “wage thief” before adding that he can’t wait for Ben Davies to return.

Elsewhere, this fan said that the former Leeds defender is “making a mockery of the term ‘professional’ footballer” – they also added that, at this point, Rose is merely a “fella with a kit on”.

Another fan with the username ‘Tottenham Boxing’ said that the time has come to “pay off this guy and get him out of the club” before stating that they’d rather turn to the youth than persist with players like Rose.
