continua após a publicidade12 cruzamentos contra o Flamengo (4×1)16 cruzamentos contra o Atlético-GO (4×1)18 cruzamentos contra o Atlético-MG (3×0)

➡️ Artur Jorge nega mental abalado do Botafogo: ‘Não estamos desesperados’

Wolves: Fans want to know what’s happening with Connor Ronan’s future

Plenty of Wolves fans have been wondering about the Molineux future of on-loan midfielder Connor Ronan.

The 21-year-old Irishman has been on loan to Slovakian outfit DAC Dunajska Streda since January, scoring two goals in 30 games for them so far.

Having had previous loan spells at Portsmouth and Walsall, he has struggled to break into the Wolves team, making just 13 senior appearances for the Molineux side since his debut in December 2016.

He seems to be benefitting from his loan move to Slovakia, though, with The Athletic’s Wolves reporter Tim Spiers tweeting that he is apparently playing “the best football of his career” with DAC Dunajska Streda. [via @TimSpiers]

According to The Irish Sun, Ronan put in a hugely influential display for Republic of Ireland under-21s in their 4-1 win over Sweden on Tuesday night, coming off the bench at half-time to masterfully set up a goal for Tottenham’s Troy Parrott, his performance delighting a number of Irish fans watching the game.

These Wolves supporters on Twitter are curious to know if the 21-year-old will have a part to play at Molineux once his loan spell in Slovakia ends, with one fan believing that he should be ahead of Morgan Gibbs-White and Bruno Jordao in the midfield pecking order:

Do you think Ronan will be given a chance to impress at Wolves or will he have to go elsewhere for regular game-time? Join in the discussion by commenting below!

Tottenham summer signing Tanguy Ndombele delivered a midfield masterclass

This article is part of Football FanCast’s The Chalkboard series, which provides a tactical insight into teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…

Having arrived from French giants Lyon in the summer, Tanguy Ndombele has endured a rather topsy-turvy time of things in north London.

The £58.m-rated ace has shown flashes of the enormous potential he has, games like the one away at Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League when he picked up two assists for instance. But in general, things have been slightly more disappointing for the 22-year-old, with fitness seemingly being a key issue with him – in the Premier League, barring the opening two games of the season against Aston Villa and Manchester City respectively, he has not completed the full 90 minutes.

And against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League, he managed just 74 minutes. But under the guidance of new manager Jose Mourinho, he produced arguably one of his finest displays in a Spurs shirt so far. Having opted for Harry Winks and Eric Dier in his first game in charge against West Ham, there may have been doubts in Ndombele’s mind about where he might have fitted into the Portuguese man’s thinking.

After all, the former Manchester United boss has built up a reputation for being a defensive-minded coach, strict on discipline and positioning. But on Saturday, Ndombele showed that he has a bit of grit to go with his guile, and paid back Mourinho’s faith in him to use him in one of the two deeper-lying midfield positions. As per Sofascore, he won a remarkable 11 of his 14 total duels, and made an impressive four tackles, one interception and one clearance too.

To put those numbers into context, Ndombele has averaged just two tackles, 0.7 interceptions and 5.2 duels won per game in the Premier League as a whole. If the former Lyon man can add some defensive bite to his game as he did against Bournemouth, then he could quickly become Mourinho’s lynch-pin in midfield. The Frenchman has also been a creative spark for Spurs, what with his 1.6 dribbles and 0.7 key passes per game.

But if he can marry his more naturally gifted offensive game to some added defensive nous, then the Spurs manager may see him as the man to carry the midfield instead of two-goal hero Dele Alli.

Real Madrid’s reported interest in Harry Kane could be bad news for Luka Jovic

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Transfer Focus series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent transfer news…

Not satisfied with snatching Eden Hazard from Chelsea last summer, it seems Real Madrid are heading back to the Premier League to sign another London-based superstar in the coming months.

According to Diario Gol, Los Blancos are determined to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur as successor to Karim Benzema.

But where would that leave young Serbian striker Luka Jovic who only moved to the Bernabeu in July?

What’s the word, then?

We’ve been hearing about Real Madrid’s supposed revolution all summer long.

The media, especially from the Spanish capital, have been going on about Zinedine Zidane not having the squad he needs (or wants) to be able to fully compete in every competition.

Watch Spanish Football Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

Of course, Hazard was a major signing and with the number seven shirt on his back, the Belgian might be looked upon as Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor.

But the Portuguese forward left for Juventus more than 15 months ago, and there are a number of other big name players who will soon need replacing in an ageing Galactico squad.

Benzema is already 31 years old. Sooner, rather than later, someone will have to take over his mantle, and who better to do that than Kane?

Unfortunately, that could end Jovic’s Real Madrid career before it has even begun.

A worrying sign

Tottenham Hotspur are not really firing on all cylinders right now.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are struggling for form and were recently beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League. They have won just three games this season – all in the Premier League and all at White Hart Lane.

Watch Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale answer the internet’s weirdest questions in the video below…

Diario Gol states that the Galacticos believe €180m (£162m) would be enough to extract the English forward away from north London, especially if Spurs miss out on Champions League football next season.

That would be a deal-breaker for Kane and, if this were to happen, he is apparently prepared to leave his beloved Spurs.

But such a deal would also ask a huge question about Jovic’s position inside Real’s squad.

Why exactly was the young Serbian even bought if Kane is now on the agenda as well? After all, it is highly unlikely that Los Blancos were ready to splash the reported £53.2m sum just to add a bench-warmer to their squad.

Soccer Football – Champions League – Group B – Olympiacos v Tottenham Hotspur – Karaiskakis Stadium, Piraeus, Greece – September 18, 2019 Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane reacts REUTERS/Alkis Konstantinidis

Seeing how Jovic has only tallied 218 minutes so far, across all competitions in 2019/20, it would be unfair to compare him to a regular first-teamer like the English forward.

So let’s take a look at how they both performed last season in their respective domestic leagues.

Jovic scored 17 goals and assisted a further five, which is actually one assist more than Kane’s 17 goals and four assists in the Premier League. Interestingly enough, the young Serbian edges him out in some other categories as well.

While the Spurs man had a slightly higher tally of shots per game with 3.6, as opposed to the former Frankfurt ace’s three, Jovic had 1.4 dispossessions and 2.3 unsuccessful touches per game, compared to Kane’s 1.6 and 2.9 respectively.

By all means, when the Serbian is given a chance to perform, he can evidently do it to a really high level.

It seems, however, that he is bound to get even less game time if the signing of Kane goes through – which, we must remind ourselves, is nowhere near concrete by any means.

But if the original source is to be believed, Kane would be Benzema’s direct successor and, in that regard, is most likely to become their first-choice striker.

The young Serb is already struggling for continuity and if Tottenham do end up allowing their forward to head to the Bernabeu, it might just spell the end of Jovic’s Madrid career.

Tottenham defender Danny Rose is unhappy, according to Charlie Nicholas

[ad_pod ]

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has made his latest round of Premier League predictions ahead of the weekend, and has made a big claim by saying Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose isn’t happy.

What did he say?

Well, speaking ahead of Spurs’ trip to Leicester City on Saturday, the former Arsenal player has had his say on the north London outfit and the England international, who was omitted from the squad that faced Olympiacos on Wednesday night along with fellow full-back Serge Aurier.

Nicholas said via Sky Sports: “Tottenham, we were told, have calmed down after the Crystal Palace game. Christian Eriksen stays put and they have their private chat, but I don’t think that is the case. I don’t think Danny Rose is happy – how long will it be until he comes out and says he is not happy?”

Watch Tottenham Hotspur Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

Is he right?

It’s difficult to say.

While the 29-year-old may not have been best pleased to have been left at home when his teammates travelled to Athens, Mauricio Pochettino did say he was going to rotate his squad and it appears likely that he is saving Rose and Aurier to start at the King Power Stadium this weekend.

In addition, he didn’t travel with the side on their pre-season tour of Asia in July either with a view to him being sold, but an exit failed to materialise even though a deadline day exit to Watford looked to be on the cards at one stage, as per The Sun.

Following a summer of speculation, the Englishman has established himself as Tottenham’s first choice left-back ahead of Ben Davies, and said in an interview with The Mirror earlier this month that he was “very happy” and that he was ready to fight for his spot.

In that respect him being unhappy would be a little strange, although Rose has always worn his heart on his sleeve and been honest.

An interesting few weeks ahead, then.

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic should opt for this starting XI vs Leeds United

West Brom face one of their toughest tests yet as they head to Elland Road looking to stretch their unbeaten start to life under Slaven Bilic to a tenth straight league outing.

Leeds will surely be baying for vengeance after their underwhelming defeat at Charlton Athletic on Saturday while the Baggies can take encouragement from picking up their first clean sheet of the season away to Queens Park Rangers.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have the best defensive record in the division, even despite losing at the weekend, as they have conceded only five goals.

Given that information, should the Croatian make any vast changes to a side that is yet to taste defeat themselves?

Summer arrival Charlie Austin cost the club £4m from Southampton, but so far he’s yet to make a significant impact, failing to score in any of his five league starts.

Fellow forward Kenneth Zohore has hardly lit up the Hawthorns either with both his goals this campaign coming from penalties – he also didn’t feature at the weekend.

Watch West Bromwich Albion Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

Instead, the returning Hal Robson-Kanu was the favoured substitute, and he looked lively when he was introduced for the final 30 minutes.

It was the 30-year-old who won the free-kick which resulted in their second goal, and given his experience in this division, he could well be needed for a fixture like this one – Robson-Kanu has made a total of 213 appearances in the Championship.

The only other change Bilic should make is reintroducing Kyle Edwards at Grady Diangana’s expense – the Albion youth product would offer more defensively as he concedes fewer fouls and has been dribbled past on less occasions, per WhoScored.

Diangana has been most effective as a super-sub since joining the club on loan from West Ham – two of his three goals and both assists have come after being subbed on – so he could be an ideal option to make Bielsa pay in the second half.

The rest of the side needs to remain unchanged especially after picking up the first clean sheet of the season, even with Kieran Gibbs lurking around the starting fold after his return from injury.

Sheffield Wednesday fans flock to shower Julian Borner in praise following Luton Town performance

[ad_pod ]

Sheffield Wednesday are flying high under caretaker boss Lee Bullen, and it doesn’t look like they’re coming down anytime soon. Especially if Julian Borner has anything to say about it.

Indeed, while we’re just four games into the long and gruelling Championship season, we see no reason not to get a little excited over the prospect of fallen giant of English football finally making their way back to the top flight. Only 42 more games to go!

Wednesday’s win over newly promoted Luton Town on Tuesday night put them at the top of the Championship table, for 24 hours at least. Fans have come out in their droves to hail summer acquisition Borner, who signed under Steve Bruce in July from German second division side Arminia Bielefeld.

Here are some of our favourite responses…

The hopes and dreams of the Hillsborough faithful sit comfortably on Borner’s shoulders, but can he handle the pressure? Find out in next week’s episode…
