ويتواجد تشيك في قائمة تشيلسي، كحارس مرمى للطوارئ، وأوضح النادي في بيانه: “تم ضم بيتر تشيك إلى الفريق لتعزيز مركز حارس المرمى في حالات الطوارئ”.

وأضاف: “هذه خطوة احترازية بسبب الظروف غير المسبوقة التي تسببها حاليًا أزمة كورونا، تشيك يشغل منصبًا كلاعب غير متعاقد”.

Ruben Neves has been near untouchable when it’s come to criticism after joining Wolves. The club raised eyebrows when they were able to prize the midfielder away from Porto in 2017 and he’s more than lived up to expectations.

He was regularly among the goals for the Midlands club last season and set the Championship alight as Wolves romped to the league title.

Although still effective this term too, he’s been far quieter than his debut campaign in English football, scoring three goals and claiming two assists across 29 Premier League matches so far.

But his performance against Watford in arguably the biggest game since he’s joined the club was questionable. This time it will have been raising eyebrows for the wrong reasons as the club were dumped out of the FA Cup in the semi-finals after their opposition sparked a remarkable comeback.

In recent matches, the Portuguese midfielder has arguably been worse than his midfield partners in Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker. It suggests the club shouldn’t be as concerned as losing him as they may have been in the past when he attracted the interest of Juventus and Manchester City last year.

However, Watford demonstrated the perfect way of nullifying the 22-year-old. Javi Gracia played a midfield diamond which allowed the Hornets to essentially man mark Neves. This is exemplified in the fact that during the 86 minutes he was on the pitch, he only touched the ball 39 times.

When he did get on the ball he was hugely ineffective, possessing a poor pass completion rate, which is a rarity for someone usually so composed on the ball.

Going forward he had no effect on the game, failing to make any key passes whilst the fact he failed to find the target with either of his two attempts on goal sums up his performance.

Neves may have come a long way since arriving in the Midlands, but this was one of his most disappointing displays in Nuno Santo’s team. If those huge clubs come calling once more with big sums of cash, it will be very hard to turn down if Neves doesn’t recover his previous form.

According to The Mirror, West Ham United want to sign centre-forward Aleksandar Mitrovic from Fulham in this summer’s transfer window.

Mitrovic has netted 10 Premier League goals for the Cottagers this season.

Scott Parker’s side are heading back to the Championship, though, and it is thought that the 24-year-old will leave Craven Cottage to remain in the top flight.

The West Ham fans have been on social media reacting to the transfer speculation in their numbers.

These were the words of Sol Campbell, per BBC, on being appointed manager of Macclesfield Town back in November and from a lengthy press conference where the former Arsenal and England star spoke reasonably throughout it was sadly this comment that the public latched onto for kicks and giggles.

It has become something of a sport in recent times to mock the man capped 73 times for his country though that is not suggesting for one minute that Campbell hasn’t provided ammunition for the banter. There was his failed attempt to become a Conservative Mayor of London and the very real prospect of him canvassing for votes in Tottenham where he is roundly despised. There is his regular indulgence in self-aggrandisement as beautifully illustrated at the top. There is also his outlandish statements that jumped from interviews and punditry work alike.

With his overly-earnest demeanour thrown in too it all added up to making one of the best players in the world a figure of fun.

Behind all of that though there is unquestionably much to admire. Here is a multi-millionaire who was so dedicated to making it in management that he did things the ‘right way’ in obtaining a UEFA pro-license and doing coaching stints wherever he could to gain valuable experience. After being rejected by 15 different clubs he then became only the eighth BAME manager in the English professional game by seeking out the vacant position at Macclesfield, with the Moss Road outfit firmly rooted to the bottom of the football pyramid.

Most admirably of all, while many expected a short, calamitous tenure that brought to mind a fish-out-of-water comedy he has since made one hell of a fist of it.

As stated the Silkmen were bottom of League Two when Campbell took on the reins and appeared for all the world like they were heading for the Conference. Now, following an unbeaten spell that stretches back to early March, they have pulled clear if only by a couple of points.

“I haven’t proved anyone wrong,” Campbell said recently, per BBC. “I haven’t proved anyone right. Until the end of the season I haven’t proved anything. But the main thing is that we stay up. I’m really fighting to make that happen.”

He is doing so by adding goals to the Silkmen’s armoury while it’s hardly surprising that the defence has improved immeasurably since his arrival with Pearson, Jules and others benefiting enormously from being coached by an ‘Invincible’ centre-back.

There is additionally fight now and a collective belief in the cause and this was shown once again this week in Macc’s over-turning of Exeter in a five-goal thriller. A recent stoic 1-1 draw away to high-flying Lincoln meanwhile caught the eye of many.

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a number of Serie A stars, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Spurs are reportedly looking to Italy as they bid to replace defender Toby Alderweireld, while also monitoring a pair of midfield players.

What’s the word?

Alderweireld, of course, has a £25million release clause in his contract that could be triggered this summer.

Spurs, per the aforementioned report, want to sign Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria.

Any deal for the centre-back would cost €25m (£21.6m), though he has reportedly told the Italian club that he wants to stay for at least another season.

Andersen, a Denmark Under-21 international, has made 31 Serie A appearances this season.

However, Tuttomercatoweb also claim that Lazio defender Luiz Felipe is a cheaper target for Spurs.

Felipe, a 22-year-old who has also made 31 Serie A appearances in 2018-19, would cost around €20m (£17.3m) and has reportedly been scouted a number of times.

Franck Kessie, the AC Milan midfielder, is also a potential target for Spurs, while Ivan Perisic is again named as a possible arrival, with a €35m (£30.3m) figure touted. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the World Cup finalist.

Bargain basement

Spurs are scouring the bargain bin here.

Andersen is a promising defender but Felipe cannot get into Lazio’s team consistently and each are unproven in the Premier League.

It appears inevitable that Alderweireld will leave the club this summer, with Spurs recouping £25m.

The fact of the matter is that if they wish to replace him properly, they will have to pay out perhaps double what they will receive.

Shopping in Serie A is the wrong thing to do, with Kessie and Perisic also unlikely to fill many holes in the squad.

The former is perhaps too similar to Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier to have a proper effect, while the latter is an ageing winger who is nowhere near the level of Son Heung-Min.

بدأ رئيس نادي برشلونة الأسبق، خوان لابورتا، التجهيز للمعركة الانتخابية المقبلة والتي ستجرى في نهاية العام الجاري 2020 لتشكيل مجلس إدارة جديد.

وأعلن الرئيس المؤقت لنادي برشلونة، كارليس توسكيتس، يوم أمس الإثنين عن موعد الانتخابات في أعياد الميلاد المقبلة، من أجل انتخاب مجلس إدارة بعد استقالة، جوسيب ماريا بارتوميو، قبل أيام.

وعلى الرغم من عدم إعلان لابورتا الترشح الرسمي بعد على مقعد الرئيس، لكنه بدأ في التواصل مع بعض الأشخاص الذين يرغب في العمل معهم إذا نجح في الانتخابات المقبلة.

ويدرس لابورتا خيار التعاقد مع ألابا خاصة وأن النمساوي لم يجدد مع بايرن ميونخ، والأخير قد سحب عرضه في الساعات الماضية بعد تعنت وكيل اللاعب وطلبه زيادة الراتب السنوي المقدم من العملاق الألماني وقيمته 11 مليون يورو.

يأتي تفكير رئيس برشلونة الأسبق في ألابا على الرغم من أن النادي في الوقت الحالي لا يهتم بالتعاقد مع هذا المدافع، كما أفادت صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الكتالونية، نظرًا للأزمة المالية الطاحنة التي يعاني منها بعد جائحة فيروس كورونا، لكن من الممكن أن يغير وجود لابورتا وجهة النظر في المستقبل.
