Neste ano, Carpini comandou a Inter de Limeira no Paulistão e desempenhou
um bom trabalho. Depois de 35 anos, o treinador levou o time do interior às
quartas de final da competição e ainda garantiu vaga no Brasileirão Série D.
Desta vez, o treinador chega com um propósito semelhante no clube do ABC.

– Estou muito contente e motivado com esta oportunidade. Dirigir um clube com uma grande história e tradição no futebol brasileiro sem dúvidas é um prazer imenso para mim. Como costumo sempre dizer, empenho, dedicação e
trabalho não faltarão e espero que no final a gente possa colher bons frutos.

Carpini iniciou a carreira dirigindo o Guarani, onde conseguiu salvar o clube do rebaixamento em 2019 e no ano seguinte conquistou o vice do Troféu do Interior. O técnico ainda participou da montagem do time para a Série B, mas acabou deixando o clube, além deuma breve passagem pelo Oeste.

Após o bom desempenho no Paulistão deste ano pela Inter, Carpini despertou
interesses em clubes da Série B, como Vila Nova, Operário, Brusque, e clubes visando a disputa do estadual do ano que vem, mas o treinador aproveitou o tempo para aumentar os estudos até que surgisse o melhor projeto.

Depois do Paulistão deste ano surgiram conversas e até mesmo propostas, mas eu preferi aguardar um projeto que seria do meu agrado. Aproveitei este tempo para continuar e ampliar meus estudos e conhecimentos.

– Hoje, estamos na Europa, vamos conhecer alguns clubes por aqui, para saber
mais a metodologia de trabalho e agregar ainda mais nossa ideia, nosso entendimento para fazermos um bom trabalho sob o comando do Santo André
neste Paulistão – disse Carpini sobre o planejamento.

Philippe Clement has been desperate to add a high-quality right-winger during the transfer window. In Cerny, the Belgian may have found exactly who he has been looking for.

His performance was impressive, yet it wasn’t as good as that of James Tavernier, who enjoyed a fine return to form after an underwhelming start to the season.

Defensively, Tavernier won three of his five total duels while making one tackle and three interceptions, yet he lost possession a staggering 24 times during the game.

This was due to his regular bursts forward into the opposition half, but the defender, who managed 114 touches, looked like a more positive player this afternoon compared to his recent performances.

It will surely give him a big confidence boost ahead of the crucial Champions League second-leg clash against Kyiv on Tuesday evening at Hampden.

A similar display to that against Motherwell could give Rangers a boost in their pursuit of group stage football in Europe’s premier competition this season, something which will give the club a major financial injection.

The game was perhaps closer than anticipated, especially during the second half, but three points are all that matters at this stage, as Clement is still trying to strengthen his team prior to the transfer window closing.

Tavernier returned to form in Glasgow, but he will need to remain consistent over the next few weeks, that’s for sure.

Nottingham Forest, after opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth, are reportedly set to sign a Premier League defender with a medical already booked.

The Reds have already had a busy transfer window, welcoming Nikolo Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, Jota Silva and, most recently, Ramon Sosa among others. Handing Nuno Espirito Santo quite the boost in his first full season in charge, Forest will hope to see their side move away from any relegation concerns and into the comforts of the Premier League's mid-table.

Welcoming Sosa, the club's Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson told Forest's official website: "Ramón has been coveted by many clubs but was so clear in his desire to join Nottingham Forest.

“We could all feel his energy, emotion, pride and excitement to be here from the first minute he arrived. He can’t wait to get started and we are delighted that he is here with us.”

Even after signing the winger, however, those at the City Ground are not done there it seems. According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have now reached an agreement to sign Alex Moreno from Aston Villa after initial talks, with a medical already booked for the left-back.

Falling out of favour under Unai Emery amid competition from Lucas Digne and Ian Maatsen, a switch to fellow Midlands side Forest certainly makes sense for Moreno before the summer transfer window comes to a close on August 30.

Adding depth may well be the key to unlocking survival for Forest once again this season. Of course, they've already done that by adding Sosa to an already-exciting frontline, but now they look set to follow that up by reinforcing their backline with the addition of Moreno. The experienced left-back, who earns a reported £35k-a-week, will undoubtedly give Ola Aina plenty to think about.

Matching Aina on the ball last season, despite struggling for similar minutes, Moreno's know-how should quickly prove to be an invaluable trait for Forest in search of turning their Bournemouth draw into a solid start to their Premier League campaign.

Defending champions Khulna Division trounced Sylhet Division by eight wickets in Tier 1 of the National Cricket League’s first round. They completed the win shortly after lunch on the fourth day by chasing down 68 runs in only 9.3 overs.Sylhet had made 308 all out in their second innings after being asked to follow-on having scored 134 in the first innings. They were behind by 241 runs at the halfway stage after Khulna made 375 all out in 109.4 overs.Imrul Kayes and Tushar Imran both got out in the nineties in Khulna’s first innings. Imrul made 90 off 127 balls with ten fours and two sixes. He added 110 for the second wicket with Robiul Islam Robi. Imran’s 99 came off 117 balls with 13 fours and he held the innings together as wickets fell around him. Abu Jayed and Ebadot Hossain, both considered to be part of Bangladesh’s red-ball pace options, took three wickets each.Sylhet were however poor with the bat, getting bowled out for 134 runs in 60.4 overs. Masum Khan and Minhazur Rahman took four wickets each while Moinul Islam took two wickets.Sylhet’s Zakir Hasan however changed their approach in the second innings, hitting his sixth first-class century. He made 140 with 15 fours as they slowly went past Khulna’s score to avoid an innings defeat. Saif came to the crease with his side having lost both their openers for ducks in the third over.He was involved in several important partnerships to help Dhaka recover, and added 137 runs for the sixth wicket with captain Nadif Chowdhury as they closed in on a 300-plus total. Saif struck eleven fours and five sixes in his 233-ball essay, which spanned five hours and 27 minutes. Nadif made 69 off 105 balls with eight fours and two sixes. Alauddin Babu took four wickets.Rangpur made an even more dismal start to their innings as they slipped to 41 for 5 in reply. Nasir Hossain went on to make exactly half of Rangpur’s 230, as he notched up his eighth first-class century. Nasir’s 115 came off 252 balls with eleven fours and four sixes, and he was the last man out.He followed it up with a four-wicket haul that skittled out Dhaka for 128 in their second innings, leaving Rangpur chasing 264, a considerably lower target than expected given the 135-run lead Dhaka had taken after the first innings.But this time it was the left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam who took six wickets – to complete match figures of 10 for 153 – who became Dhaka’s match-winner. Rangpur were bowled out for 183 with Naeem Islam top scoring with 61.Dhaka Metropolis cruised to an eight-wicket win over Barisal Division. Shohidul Islam starred with both bat and ball, scoring his maiden first-class century batting at No. 8, and picking up three wickets in the match.Batting first at their home venue, Barisal were bowled out for 241, to which Dhaka Metro replied with 413 in 129.2 overs. Captain Marshall Ayub struck his 21st first-class century, finishing on 112 with 13 fours. But it was the memorable 140-run eighth wicket stand between Shohidul and Abu Hider that took Barisal completely out of the game. Shohidul struck 14 fours in his 106 off 150 balls, while Hider made 39.Barisal couldn’t improve on their first-innings score, this time getting bowled out for 208.
