Liverpool fans open to club bringing back Klopp’s coach Lijnders

Liverpool fans were left stunned last month when Jurgen Klopp’s right-hand man Zeljko Buvac departed suddenly.

The 56-year-old had worked as Klopp’s assistant manager throughout the pair’s career in coaching.

The club stated that Buvac had left for personal reasons and would not be returning before the end of the season.

However, the Reds did emphasise that his position at Anfield had not changed.

Despite this, there are rumblings that the tactician will not be returning to Merseyside, and now The Telegraph are reporting that Klopp’s former coach Pep Lijnders may return.

The Dutchman left Liverpool’s setup in January to pursue a solo career as manager, but after failing to guide NEC Nijmegen to Eredivisie promotion, he left the role.

Lijnders is very familiar with the Reds given that he worked at the club from 2014 under former manager Brendan Rodgers and continued to assist when Klopp took over in October 2015.

It is unclear whether the coach wants to return to Anfield, but the fans are all for it.
